MCEGuru is a software for Windows Media Center users : It allows you to control it from several touchscreen devices  : A brand new way of controlling your MCE Media Center !

On your touchscreen control device, you'll be able to :

• See your photos
• List your movies and videos, with their thumbnail image
  
• List TV channels configured on your Media Center, as well as the program guide for them
  
• List all the music available on your Media Center, and even listening to it directly on your controlling device
• Manage current playlist on your Media Center
  
• Control the currently playing media on your TV, browse in it, etc...
• And so much more ! ;)

MCEGuru is still under development, thus not available for download yet. 

How does it work ?

MCEGuru is a software composed of 2 elements :

• A 'Server' component, to be installed on your Windows Media Center PC.
• A 'Client' component, to be installed on the controlling touchscreen device, which will communicate with the Server component.

What controlling devices can I use ?

The MCEGuru Client is currently available for the Nokia 770 Internet Tablet : it is a little touchscreen device that kind of look like a PDA. Here are some photos :

MCEGuru also works on the new Nokia Tablet : the N800; and it will work on the upcoming N810.

Another MCEGuru Client will be then developed, to work on a Linux Touchscreen mini-box. It can then be installed on a table near your sofa ;)  :

When will it be released ??

My not very precise answer : Soon ! The public release date is not fixed yet, but it'll be done during the next few months. In the mean time, if you own a Nokia 770 n800 or n810, and a Media Center running Windows Vista (Home Premium or Ultimate editions) and want to participate to the beta-test program of MCEGuru, don't hesitate to contact us with this form .
